Overview
The brief
SCAACH is a prominent Lagos-based design, construction, and consultancy firm known for its "Design – Manufacture – Build" philosophy. Their premium paint line Scaach Paints delivers high-performance, durable, and stylish paints for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
To expand their market reach and give customers a complete, convenient experience, I designed a full-featured e-commerce platform. Users can now buy paints and painting equipment, request professional painting services, and access free DIY tutorials all in one modern, mobile-friendly website.

Problem
Key challenges
Multi-product complexity
Organising paint products, brushes, rollers, protective gear, and accessories into a browsable, filterable catalogue without cognitive overload.
Service + product in one cart
Enabling customers to purchase physical goods and book painting services within the same checkout flow — a technically and UX-challenging integration.
Building trust online
Painting is a considered purchase. Customers needed enough information, visuals, and social proof to feel confident buying without seeing colours in person.
Educating while selling
DIY tutorials needed to feel genuinely helpful not like hidden upsells to build long-term brand loyalty and community trust.
Solution
What we built
Product catalogue
Filterable shop for paints by finish, colour family, and surface type. Equipment and tools in a separate organised section.
Service booking
Request professional painters for residential or commercial jobs, with quote requests, scheduling, and booking confirmations.
DIY tutorials
Step-by-step painting guides with video, tips, and linked product recommendations empowering customers to tackle projects confidently.
Payment gateway
Secure multi-method checkout supporting card, mobile wallets, and bank transfer covering both product and service payments.
Customer support
Live chat widget, FAQ hub, and order tracking reducing support overhead while improving post-purchase satisfaction.
Account & order history
User accounts with saved favourites, reorder functionality, and a full history of product purchases and service bookings.
Outcomes
Results & impact
Unified e-commerce and service booking into one frictionless checkout reducing drop-off at the hybrid cart stage
DIY tutorials drove measurable increases in average order value as users added recommended products to cart from tutorial pages
Live chat and FAQ hub handled the majority of common queries autonomously, freeing up the support team for complex cases
Colour visualisation tools and detailed product pages gave customers the confidence to purchase online without visiting a physical store
The platform successfully supports three distinct revenue streams products, equipment, and painting services within a single brand experience
SCAACH needed a platform that could talk to the weekend DIYer and the professional contractor in the same breath and get both of them to come back. That's what I designed for
